The nerds of the world were already aware for some time of the impending arrival of Tron Legacy, the sequel to the cult 80′s scifi classic. Tron is best remembered by the general public for two things.
- The futuristic vision that most people imagined would be “cyberspace”. In fact, I think some of us still hope that we’ll be able to literally surf the ‘net one day.
- This.
Tron Legacy has been coming down the pipe for a while. The trailer is simply mind-blowing.
So as the countdown to the December release ramps up, the question becomes “what will Disney do next?” Disney is an unparalleled Marketing giant. Rumors have been surfacing of various Disneyworld changes to support the release. Specifically they are suggesting a ride and an arcade in the Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland. Personally, this is the rumor I’m hoping turns out true. Space Mountain is always awesome, but could you imagine a Lightcycle- based ride??? Holy crepes!
So far, the only confirmed report so far is a makeover for Disney’s Monorails.
My only complaint is that as a former Monorail Pilot, I was never afforded the opportunity to drive a monorail with a friggin Lightcycle on the side. Come on, Disney! I demand recompense!!!!!!!!!
